The rapid rise and fall of the previous club to bear the town's name has been well documented but there are firmer foundations behind the current set-up.
The club are wholly owned by members of the Gretna Supporters Society and for £10 a year that privilege is open to all.
Having groundshared for a short period at nearby Annan, Gretna returned to Raydale Park in 2009 and the club were part of a community group who purchased the site in 2011.
This weekend (12 and 13 July) at their home ground Gretna host the Raydale Cup 2014 which offers the chance to watch four matches over the weekend for just £10 adults and £3 for children.
The hosts are taking on Annan Athletic on Saturday while Stirling Albion match up against Workington Reds with the respective winners and losers then meeting on Sunday.
